Close your eyes
Indulge a mad woman
Picture the world
As a fairy tale
Forget all that is outside
Focus
Focus on a little village
A small kingdom
What can you see?
Which story will you tell?
There are so many
And at the same time so few
Is there a wolf?
A princess?
A lesson to be learned?
Do you see what I wish to say?
Who is the cast
In this fairy tale play?
Who is the villain?
Someone with no redeeming qualities
Evil through and through
Who is the hero?
Someone who does things perfectly
Who is noble and wonderful
And can do no wrong
Now
Indulge me
Pity the wolf
Pity the witch
Pity the king
For the fairy tales treat them ill
And also
Pity the princess
Pity the prince
Pity the fairies and the milk maids
Who have no choice
Do you see?
Do you see what I wish to show you?
Can you read the script
And then read between the lines?
Can you hear what they don’t say
And see what they don’t show?
Now open your eyes
And realize my spell
Realize that the world IS a fairy tale
Just on a bigger stage
When was the last time
Someone admitted
That an opponent might be right?
Do you see the wolves?
Do you see the princes?
And can you see also
The truth?
The workings of the tale?
Because if you can
Then my work is done
And you need to pass the knowledge on
And if you can’t?
Then I will say no more
And go quietly
To the doom my musings have earned me

Fairytale Consequences
Cinderella ran
and the Beauty slept
Snow White was cased in glass
as Thumbelina wept
Cinderella cleaned
Briar Rose roamed free
Snow White was hated
as Rapunzel preened
My story's not a fairytale
nor could it ever be
'cause life is not a fairy tale
you know as well as me
Yet sometimes
somedays
there's magic in the air
but only sometimes
just sometimes to be fair
Cinderella danced
Princess Aurora told
Snow White

Fairies
Wings of glitter,
Weighing them down while struggling to fly.
Hearts of gold,
Always putting others before themselves.
Flying fast,
Putting the dark, shadowed past behind them.
Hiding behind a mask,
Not daring to show the sins of past.
Secrets,
Eating away at their souls,
Their conscience scolding,
Their life, once conceived.
Eating their very beings,
Looking into a mirror is a fright,
For what they see,
Is nothing more....
Than an ugly thing,
Innocence taken before lies are given.
Looking up at the light,
Then fluttering down to their darkest self hatred.
For they are the true reflection of evil,
Masked behind innocence

Magic of Fairy Tales
Once upon a time
Thats how the story goes
It starts with a damsel in distress
The handsome prince comes to save her
From a terrifying monster
Be it a troll
A fire-breathing dragon
Even an ogre with a desire to marry her
The good guy always wins in the end
Wins the princess's heart
Live happily ever after
Fairy Tales
A place in a faraway land
Away from our reality
Where magic is real
Nothing is impossible
As long as you believe in the magic
The magic of fairy tales
Frogs kissed by maidens
Become handsome princes
Magic beans become a beanstalk
Fairy Godmothers make your dreams come true
Rub the magic lamp and a genie app

For once I actually know what one of my poems means! I hate fairy tales. Like really HATE them. I've read all sorts of them, from the original Grimm's fairy tales (which amuse me) to the Disney versions (which make me want to punch something) And one thing I notice, is that the world is a fairy tale. And that in fairy tales, no one cares what happens after a certain point, and no one cares why certain people do what they do. And I wonder, does anyone else see this? Other then those that take advantage of it? I mean... I am the wolf. The evil witch. And when I look at the heroes? I can't help but wonder, what makes me the villain and them the hero? What makes them better then me?
